This Refund and Returns Policy outlines our terms for returns and exchanges to ensure a clear and fair experience for all customers. By making a purchase on www.homeplusstorage.com, you agree to the terms below.
1. Our Return Philosophy
Our policy is designed to be straightforward and customer-focused, while also ensuring responsible business practices. It is important to note that we do not offer a “refund only” (monetary refund to the original payment method) for standard returns. Our standard resolution is an exchange for a replacement item or the issuance of store credit. Monetary refunds are only issued in specific, exceptional circumstances as outlined in Section 6.
2. Return Eligibility
To be eligible for a return, please ensure your request meets the following conditions:
- Timeframe: You must initiate a return request within 30 days of the date you received your order.
- Product Condition: The item(s) must be unused, in their original condition, and in the original, unmarked packaging with all tags and accessories included.
- Proof of Purchase: You must provide your original order number or receipt.
- Non-Returnable Items: For safety and hygiene reasons, the following items cannot be returned unless they arrive defective or damaged:
- Any opened or used storage products.
- Items purchased during a final sale or marked as “non-returnable” on the product page.
3. The Return Process
Step 1: Initiate a Request
Contact our Customer Service team via email at rulefication@homeplusstorage.com or call us at +1 905 854 6079 within the 30-day window. Please provide your order number, the item(s) you wish to return, and the reason for the return. Our team will then provide you with a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and detailed return instructions.
Returns shipped without a valid RMA number will not be accepted.
Step 2: Ship the Item
Carefully pack the item(s) in their original packaging, include all accessories and documentation, and clearly mark the RMA number on the outside of the package. You are responsible for the cost of return shipping. We highly recommend using a trackable and insured shipping service, as we cannot be held responsible for items lost or damaged in transit.
Step 3: Inspection & Resolution
Once we receive and inspect your return (typically within 5-10 business days), we will notify you via email.
- If Approved: Your resolution will be one of the following, at your choice:
- Store Credit: We will issue a store credit for the full value of the returned item(s) (minus any original shipping charges). This credit will be sent to your account email and can be used for future purchases on www.homeplusstorage.com.
- Replacement: We will ship out a replacement for the same item at no additional cost.
- If Declined: If the item does not meet our eligibility criteria, it will be shipped back to you at your expense.
4. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items
We take quality control seriously. If you receive an item that is damaged, defective, or incorrect due to our error, please contact us immediately at rulefication@homeplusstorage.com. Provide your order number and photos/videos of the issue. In such cases:
- We will provide a prepaid return shipping label.
- Upon verification, we will arrange for a free replacement to be shipped promptly.
- If a replacement is not available, we will issue a full monetary refund to your original payment method as an exception.
5. Shipping Costs & Fees
- Return Shipping: The customer is responsible for all return shipping costs, except in cases of our error (damaged/defective/incorrect item).
- Original Shipping: Original shipping and handling fees are non-refundable.
- Restocking Fee: No restocking fees are applied to returns that meet our eligibility criteria.
6. Refunds (Limited Circumstances)
As stated, we do not process refunds for change-of-mind or standard returns. Refunds to the original payment method will only be considered in these specific scenarios:
- The item is defective, damaged, or incorrect, and a replacement is unavailable.
- A duplicate charge was made in error.
- The product is subject to a safety recall.
If a monetary refund is approved, it will be processed within 10-14 business days after approval and will appear on your original payment method.
7. Store Credit Details
- Store credits do not expire.
- They are issued in the original currency of purchase.
- Credits are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash.
- The credit code will be emailed to the address associated with your original order upon return approval.
8. Exchanges for a Different Item
We do not process direct “swaps.” To get a different product, please follow the standard return process to receive store credit. You can then place a new order for your desired item using the issued credit.
9. International Returns
Customers returning items from outside of Canada are responsible for:
- All return shipping costs, customs duties, and taxes.
- Ensuring the return parcel’s customs declaration is marked as “RETURNED GOODS” and includes the RMA number.
